The Old School marketing strategies of cold calling leads are dead… The need to pick up the phone or knock on some strangers’ door may no-longer be necessary thanks to web 2.0 and what is called attraction marketing. 

First what is web 2.0?

“Web 2.0” is the web development and web design that facilitates information sharing, user-centered websites – Examples of Web 2.0 include web-based communities like facebook and other social networking sites, blogs, web applications, and video-sharing sites. Web 2.0 sites allow users to interact with other users or even change web content, in contrast to non-interactive websites where users are limited to the passive viewing of information that is provided to them.

Why is this beneficial for you home based business?

When you position yourself on the web as an expert network marketer and when you utilize web 2.0, you can actually attract people to come to you begging for help and information on how to grow their home based business. And when you utilize web 2.0 tools like blogging, rss feed, and social bookmarking, it becomes easy to get you (YOUR BRAND) out there.

So what is Attraction Marketing?

To explain, Attraction Marketing  is the practice of allowing pre-qualified buyers or prospects to find what it is that you are offering. If, at the same time, you can show them that it meets their need and in a better way than your competitors can, you probably don’t even have to worry about the sales transaction or the signing up process for your particular company.

So, how do you utilize web 2.0 and attraction marketing so you can lose the old school strategies like cold calling, chasing people around, knocking down peoples doors, and things like that?

Easy!

1.)    Get a word press blog – Google and search engines love word press blogs and if you get good content up about your business, odds are you will rank high for your keywords (more on keywords in another article) resulting in you getting a good deal of traffic on your website.

2.)    Quality content – the catch to the above is that you have to put up quality content that people want to read… You literally have less than 5 seconds to get who ever found your website’s attention, so you better have good headlines to blog posts. And once you do have their attention, you need to provide useful tools and info that people want, need, and are looking for. By doing so you will position yourself as a quality resource resulting in you visitors wanting to buy from you

3.)    Set up accounts with Social networking websites like facebook and twitter. Again the search engines love these types of sites, so if you get yourself set up on these sites and post keyword rich info that is useful – it will make it easier for people to find you on the net.

There you have it, now you have some good insight on what web 2.0 is as well as attraction marketing. Now all you have to do is get yourself set up with a blog and listed on some social media sites, and start posting some good content.  Then people will be hunting you down for more info which will result in more leads which result in more sales
